THEORETICAL RECITAL Quality of Life in the Work From the decade of 1950 appears what it would be the beginning of the studies in QVT. In this period Eric Trist (1911-1993) and collaborators they had developed relative research to the changes in the individual, organizacionais and social values, sketching a boarding partner-technique of the organizations. This expression had origin in the program integrated of inquiry and consultoria around the dynamic of groups and organizacionais, call research-action and co-ordinated by Trist in the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, hosted in London (SOUZA, et al., 2005). These studies had taken impulse in the decade of 1960, from the awareness of the importance of if searching better forms to organize the work, with the purpose to minimize its negative effect on the worker and to reach its general well-being. (TOLFO AND PICCININI, 2001).
However, it was in years 1970 that the question of the QVT gained more importance had to the sprouting of strong competition in the international markets. Walton (1973 apud RODRIGUES, 1994), was one of the precursors in the subject, rescuing humanistic values neglected by the industrial societies for the technological advance and of the economic growth, supporting the productivity and better conditions of work. In 1974 the movement suffered one shakes in reason of the energy crisis, for economic questions and the increasing inflation in the period, reason for which the attentions had been come back toward the sanitation of the companies and the permanence in the side job leaving the QVT.
